Long story short:
Wake up: 6:45, I was drop dead tired
REPOST: Ya girl got a repost from NSLIY.
Breakfast: Fried rice, grapes, and walnut milk (tbh my favorite breakfast)
Class: We literally spent all of class socializing with our teachers, and that was pretty lit. I also got the opportunity to try and teach the class about population demographics again. (It’s not like I did an entire IOPP on it rip).
Lunch: We had an hour for lunch because of the IOPPs. I ended up getting two grape drinks and a bag of chips because #health
Culture class: Taiqi
Getting flipped: Benjamin flipped me over his shoulder, so thanks for that buddy. I had a bottle in my hand and tossed it to him because I was “putting it in the trash”. He then told me to put my stuff down, because he had something to show me. I had a feeling he was going to hit me with the bottle I just threw at him, so I was wary. I walked over and he told me to relax, and then proceeded to show me how he could “flip me over his shoulder”. It did not work and I ended up falling.
老门东: I went back because I love the panda store. Getting there via subway was easy; it was actually finding 老门东 from the subway station that almost killed us. We walked around for thirty minutes in the heat trying to find the entrance, and part of me feared that this adventure was going to turn out like our stationary store adventure, but God damn it I wanted my pandas, so I was going to get them. After much debating about asking strangers where to find go, we found the place. But we had no idea where we were, so we ended up walking around blindly though 老门洞 until we found the area we were familiar with. I only bought 89 kuai worth of panda merch and I’m so proud of myself. This time, I bought a ring, a notebook, a fountain pen, two pairs of socks, a scarf, and a pencil sharpener. I love this panda store.
Too thin: The first thing my host mom said to me when I got home was: “You’re too thin! How much do you weigh? Go weigh yourself! No you have stuff in your hands; reweight yourself. How much did you weigh in America?” I’m not offended, but talking about my weight so openly feels weird. #culturaldifferenes
Dinner: Rice, probably eggplant, meatballs, and some kind of squash
