Long story short:
Wake up: 7:53
Sophie: I got to video chat with Sophie for an hour, and that was nice. I tried to get her to speak to my host family, but she didn’t want to.
Lunch: Rice and meat
Exploring: I hung out with Prindle and Jessica this afternoon. We met at the New City Plaza Mall because I thought Jessica wanted to buy fake Yeezes (sp??), but it turns out she wasn’t the one who told me they wanted fake shoes so whoops. We walked around the mall for about thirty minutes before getting on the subway to walk around 新街口 for thirty minutes. We tried to think of something to do after my idea of lounging in the tallest building in Nanjing was shot down and ended up coming up with the brilliant idea of trying to find a stationary store. We were under the guidance of Prindle, which was our first mistake. Our second mistake was getting off the bus two stops too early. Our third mistake was walking half a mile in 114 degree weather. Our third mistake was not finding the stationary store and walking 500 meters back to the subway station. I got nothing but exercise and sweat out of that excursion when instead I could have been siting in an air conditioned building 45 stories above the ground. #adventures
Dinner: We parted way with Prindle at Gulou and planned to go home, but Jessica and I wanted food, so we went back to the first mall and ate Pizza Hut. We split some fries and a meat lovers pizza. It was great. Also, we’re both really bad at listening comprehension, so talking to the waiters was a treat.
McDonalds: I wanted more French fries, but ended up getting ice cream instead.
Home: My host family went out to dinner, so I’m home alone again.
Group chat: I went back to reread the group chat (pre-China) and I never realized how we all were.
