China Day 6

I woke up with a bad stomach ache from eating non-peeled fruit in non-boiled water, so that was fun.
My morning went as per-usual: I studied, didn’t eat breakfast, and walked to class.
I’m worried about tomorrow’s test because I don’t know if I’ll be able to remember/recall all the characters we’ve had to learn, but then again, I shouldn’t be complaining. The 401 class has to know 177 words, and I only have to know around 60. There’s a reason I’m not in the upper class.
For lunch, I had a plate of noodles.
Newspaper class was confusing as usual, but we did some more role-playing. I got to be Xi Jing Ping, and Kate was Trump. Of course, I had to take funny pictures with the signs, and of course, I still didn’t know what was happening. At the end of class, the teacher did everyone did great. She then turned to me and said “Hayley, you’re improving.”
Who said this was a good idea?
None of us realized that going to review meant going back to our classroom, so we were a little late. Again, I’m just crossing my fingers that I know what’s happening tomorrow.
I went 10 minutes over with my 一对一, so I was late for the RD meeting (which thankfully, is in English.) It was nice seeing everyone with a personality again.
The things that were discussed were: things that were on our minds, cell phones, coffee, and excursions.
We mainly talked about words we had learned, and things that had happened throughout the week.
Cellphones: basically I caused a lot of trouble by having my sim card cut. Long story short, the phones are too old of Chinese sim cards because their technology is more advanced. The phones only work on 2G and you need at least 4 or 5G to use the sim cards now. So, long story short, we might be getting the most basic smartphone, which means I can finally use wechat without having to connect to wifi. I’m 10/10 down for this plan.
Coffee: some of the teachers heard of a few students complaining that they didn’t have their morning coffee, so they suggesting buying and delivering us free coffee every morning. I made the joke of: oh no, now we have to choose coffee or cell phones. Turns out that wasn’t a joke because Phil said we either get one or the other. Thankfully, everyone’s smart and chose the cell phones, because having coffee delivered to us is way too pretentious.
Culture: we’re visiting a village Monday, and then have to give a presentation about it during our 一对一.
After the meeting, we had to resort back to Chinese. I ate dinner and then went back to my dorm to study. I’ve reached my limit, and I know I shouldn’t yolo it tomorrow, but I just might. I’m so tired, and I can’t focus on the words anymore. I think I’ll just see how this goes, and then prepare from there. I’ll be ready for next week’s test once I see how this one goes.
